My plan is to cut out certain objects that have been captures in the past by Google maps and 'hang'them in real life at the exact location.

With a QR code or something similar the viewer can scan and view the location from that time.

Maybe choose this object from the corner shop
and glue it on the floor?

This is how the corner shop looks like now.
If the box would be glued on the floor one could relive how it used to look like.
